When I was a kid, I used to make my own freezer pops with grape Kool-Aid, Dixie cups, and plastic spoons. This book goes way beyond those simple drink mix popsicles and offers up a list of fruity, indulgent, and easy to make options that can be done with or without popsicle molds. The instructions are well written and easy to follow, and several types of popsicle are shown in photographs. Suggestions are given on how to freeze the pops without molds, how to unmold when ready to serve, and how to include your kids in the preparation. The recipes themselves range from basic fruit-based popsicles to chocolate and cookie-based pops, although I'll be giving the Sweet Corn Creamsicles a miss. Several of the flavors are quite impressive looking, such as the Fruity Popsicle that features various cut up fruits encased in lemonade, the Raspberry Coconut Ice Pop, and the Sparkling Blue Velvet popsicles with blueberries and cocoa. Any of these flavors would be a hit at an adult gathering such as a cookout, so don't just store them away for the kids.Recommended.
